Growing up on the shores of the Mississippi, Sophia developed a passion for creation care. Currently a junior at Dordt University, she studies environmental science, with an art minor, and plays viola in the chamber orchestra. This year she will continue her work as a TA for the biology department and will be one of a few students caretaking Dordt’s restored prairie plot. She loves drawing, writing poems, and engaging with creation through multiple mediums -- especially tree climbing.
Through her college career, Sophia has gained a deeper understanding of what it means to fulfill God’s command to steward creation, and what that may look like in a variety of communities and environments. Sophia is looking forward to the YECA fellowship, and the opportunity to bear witness to the beauty of creation, and a deep need for restoration!
