YECA strives to be a witness for Christ by living out our faith through our climate action. Additionally, we hope to be a witness to the larger Evangelical Church of the realities of climate change, especially for our most vulnerable neighbors. 

Our desire to be witnesses is rooted in God’s Word when he implores his followers, the disciples, and the Church to shine His light to those around them and to be a living testimony to God's goodness, His love and compassion for all creation, and His desire for justice. 

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”  -Matthew 5:16

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”   -Acts 1:8
