Jaime's YECA Story

When I first heard about YECA, I was so intrigued and excited by the mission and work. I’d been looking for a place to channel my interest and passion for the environment and social justice, and it was really powerful to see young Evangelicals spearheading bold climate action on such a large scale. It felt like a space for me to connect with other young Christians and put our faith into action together by advocating for just and equitable climate action. As a senior in college, I had the opportunity to join YECA’s team as a Communications Intern. As an intern, I was able to witness the incredible efforts and programs that make up YECA’s work. I saw firsthand the impact we were making on the lives of young Christians and in the broader climate movement by being a consistent and trusted presence in our churches and national policy spaces. Furthermore, I was able to meet and work alongside the wonderful staff and leadership behind YECA, who inspired and motivated me everyday.

I knew that when my internship came to an end, I wanted to remain involved with YECA and plugged in to the incredible community here. I feel so blessed that now I’ve been able to help further YECA’s mission for a more just, equitable, and loving world as my full-time job. I couldn’t be happier to still be involved with YECA, doing this work everyday. YECA has grown and changed a lot in the past year, but I feel so excited and encouraged about the future and about our ability to begin reaching and uniting a new generation of Christians to take climate action as an expression of our faith in Christ.
